Riders reserve parking when they book, or buy same-day parking at the Dana Point Harbor parking structure as space allows. LAZ Parking runs the structure, and Catalina Express riders park on its third level. Parking in the harbor's surface lots is not allowed, and cars left there are subject to towing.
Avalon and Two Harbors ferry landings

When to arrive for the Catalina Island ferry
Catalina Express asks riders to arrive at least one hour before departure, to allow time for parking and boarding. Each rider gets a QR code by email as a ticket and shows it on a phone or on paper. Confirmed riders join the boarding line at least 10 minutes before departure, or their seats go to standby riders with no refund. The gates close 5 minutes before departure.
Seats on board are first come, first served, indoors and outdoors. Catalina Express advises soft-soled shoes, since the boarding ramp can be steep. Riders pack so they can carry their bags down the ramp to the dock in one trip.
