The Bald Head Island ferry leaves from the Deep Point ferry terminal at Deep Point Marina, 1301 Ferry Road, Southport, NC 28461. Deep Point Marina is just before the NCDOT ferry landing for the Southport–Fort Fisher ferry.
Drivers entering Southport on Route 211 South (Howe Street) turn left on East Moore Street, then right onto Ferry Road at the roundabout. After about half a mile, the entrance to Deep Point Marina is on the right, and signs lead to the ferry terminal. Drivers with luggage drop it on the terminal's lower level before parking, where the overhead clearance is 9 feet.
Bald Head Island Parking runs the Deep Point lots. A machine issues a ticket at the lot entrance, and drivers show it to leave. A lost ticket costs a fee.

The Bald Head Island ferry lands at the harbor at Bald Head Island. Riders with a tram reservation follow the signs for tram assignments, collect their party and bags, and go to the assigned tram.
Bald Head Island Transportation books tram seats only with a tram-eligible ticket, the general fare or a Bulk 40 ticket. A tram reservation can be one way, for the drop-off or the pickup.
Bald Head Island Transportation asks riders to arrive at least 30 minutes before their planned departure. Riders with a reservation go to the Reservations boarding area 15 minutes before departure, and everyone else boards the next ferry with space. Tickets are scanned at boarding, printed or on a phone.
Seats are limited, and Bald Head Island Transportation recommends booking well in advance. A rider who misses a reserved boat keeps a valid ticket and can board the next ferry with space through the general line. When a ferry runs late, the reservation carries over to the next one.
