MV Cetus<\/strong> is a Hydrus Class<\/strong> passenger ferry<\/a> owned and operated by San Francisco Bay Ferry<\/a>. It frequently serves the Alameda Ferry<\/a>, Alameda Seaplane Ferry<\/a>, Alameda Short Hop Ferry<\/a> and Oakland Ferry<\/a> routes. It has capacity for 400 passengers, 50 bikes, features onboard restrooms, snacks, drinks and WIFI, and is wheelchair accessible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vessel was built by Vigor (formerly Kvichak Marine Industries) at a cost of $15.1 million. It began service in July 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It uses two MTU 12V4000 engines and a propeller for propulsion, and can reach a service speed of 27 knots (31 miles per hour).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MV Cetus measures 41 meters in length and has a gross tonnage of 95 tons. It runs on Bio Diesel B5 and has a fuel capacity of 3,000 gallons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
