MV Tillikum is a Evergreen State class auto and passenger ferry operated by Washington State Ferries<\/a>, a child department of the Washington State Department of Transportation<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was built in Seattle, Washington in 1959 and re-built in 1994.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vessel has a capacity for 1,061 passengers and 87 vehicles in total.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tillikum measures 310 feet 2 inches in length with a beam of 73 feet 2 inches and a draft of 15 feet 6 inches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is powered by two diesel-electric engines that can generate a total of 2,500 horsepower and reach a service speed of 13 knots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accessible restrooms are available on the main passenger deck and elevator access is available from the auto deck to the passenger deck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other amenities include a galley and vending and newspaper machines on the passenger deck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
