The MV Jennifer C is a auto and passenger ferry<\/a> vessel serving the Cross Sound Ferry<\/a> route between New London, Connecticut and Orient Point in Long Island, New York. It has capacity for 300 passengers and 50 vehicles in total.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vessel was built for the North Carolina Department of Transportation Ferry Division in 1965 by New Bern Shipyard in New Bern, North Carolina. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was originally named MV Pamlico and served the Swan Quarter to Ocracoke and Cedar Island to Ocracoke ferry routes in North Carolina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cross Sound Ferry Services, Inc., owner and operator of the Cross Sound Ferry and Block Island Express<\/a>, purchased the vessel in 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vessel underwent extensive renovations in 2016 including a complete renovation of the existing passenger cabin and the addition of a new passenger cabin, full service deli, seating upgrades and interior climate controls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MV Jennifer C is named for Jennifer C. Wronowski, the wife of Vice President and co-owner of Cross Sound Ferry Services, Inc. Adam Wronowski.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
