The MV Sea Jet I is a high-speed passenger ferry vessel serving the Cross Sound Ferry<\/a> and Block Island Express<\/a> ferry routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vessel has capacity for 400 passengers in total and is capable of speeds in excess of 30 knots (35 miles per hour).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was built in 1989 by Nichols Bros. Boat Builders, a commercial boat builder in Freeland, Washington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MV Sea Jet I served as a Hawaiian inter-island commuter ferry and dinner cruise boat before being acquired by Cross Sound Ferry Services, Inc. in 1995.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
