The J-Mack Ferry, operated by Caltrans, is a cable ferry<\/a> that crosses Steamboat Slough, a branch of the Sacramento River connecting Ryde and Ryer Island. It is officially a part of California State Route 220. It is also referred to as J-Mac Ferry, Steamboat Slough Ferry, Grand Island Ferry or Howard Landing Ferry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The J-Mack Ferry does not have a set schedule like other ferry<\/a> services. Instead, boat operators are on call 24 hours a day and the J-Mack Ferry operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The vessel that serves this route is named J-Mack. It measures 92 feet long and 32 feet wide. It has capacity for up to six vehicles and a 15-ton weight limit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
