Washington State Department of Transportation

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is a governmental agency responsible for managing the official ferry service in Washington known as Washington State Ferries.

WSDOT is also responsible for the construction, maintenance and regulation of transportation infrastructure in Washington state including rail lines, state highways and state airports.

The Washington State Ferries fleet is the largest ferry fleet in the United States. It totals 21 vessels of varying classes and carries over 23 million passengers annually.
