Victoria ferry schedule and guide
Two operators run ferries from Washington to Victoria, British Columbia. The Victoria Clipper is a passenger-only fast ferry from Pier 69 in downtown Seattle, and Black Ball Ferry Line (Black Ball) runs the MV Coho, a car and passenger ferry from Port Angeles. Both land in Victoria's Inner Harbour on Belleville Street. The crossing is international, so riders pass through customs and immigration and carry a travel document.

Victoria ferry times and the time difference
Every time on this page is Pacific Time, the clock in Seattle and Port Angeles. British Columbia stays on daylight saving time all year, so while Washington is on standard time, Victoria clocks run one hour ahead of Seattle's. Each Victoria departure in those months carries a note with its time on Victoria's clock, the time both operators print.

Victoria ferry ID requirements and customs
Both operators list the travel documents they accept for U.S. and Canadian citizens: a passport, a U.S. passport card, a NEXUS card, or an enhanced driver's license or ID card. Both say a REAL ID is not a valid document for the border crossing. Black Ball does not accept a photocopy or a photo of a document, and it lists further documents on its ID requirements page.
U.S. and Canadian citizens under 16 show proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate, on both operators' lists. The Victoria Clipper asks for a signed letter from any birth parent not traveling with a child.
Victoria Clipper riders clear Canadian immigration and customs at the Victoria terminal. Going back, U.S. Customs and Border Protection processes every rider at the Victoria terminal before boarding, starting at least one hour before departure, and checks purchases again in Seattle. On the Coho, vehicle passengers stay inside the Victoria terminal compound once U.S. immigration begins.
Seattle Clipper terminal parking and directions
The Victoria Clipper leaves from the Seattle Clipper terminal at Pier 69, 2701 Alaskan Way, Seattle, WA 98121. The Victoria Clipper asks riders to arrive at least one hour before departure, when boarding starts. A rider not on board 15 minutes before departure loses the seat and the fare.
The Bell Street Pier Garage sits diagonally across Alaskan Way from Pier 69, with entrances at 9 Wall Street and 2323 Elliott Avenue and a 6 foot 6 inch height limit. The walk from the garage to the terminal takes 5 to 20 minutes, depending on train crossings. Riders get a parking coupon from a Clipper attendant on board for the Clipper's daily rate.
| Lot | Location | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Bell Street Pier Garage | 9 Wall Street, across Alaskan Way from Pier 69 | $10.00 a calendar day with the Clipper coupon |
From Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, riders take Link light rail to Westlake Station in downtown Seattle, then a taxi of about 5 minutes to Pier 69.
Port Angeles ferry terminal parking and directions
The Coho leaves from the Black Ball terminal at 101 East Railroad Avenue, Port Angeles, WA 98362, in downtown Port Angeles. Drivers on US 101 turn right at Lincoln Street and left on Railroad Avenue, and the terminal is on the right.
Drivers check in at the drive-up ticket window on the right side of the terminal building at least 60 minutes before departure, and Black Ball may cancel a vehicle reservation not claimed by then. Walk-on and bicycle riders arrive 30 minutes before departure and board by the passenger ramp in the main terminal building.
Privately run lots within 1 or 2 blocks of the terminal sell daily parking. Most take credit cards, and some take cash only. Four loading zone spaces sit outside the terminal for drop-offs.
| Lot | Location | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Private lots | Within 1 or 2 blocks of the terminal | $12 to $15 a calendar day |
Riders without a car reach Port Angeles from Seattle on the Washington State Ferries Seattle–Bainbridge Island ferry, then the Clallam Transit Strait Shot bus from the Bainbridge Island ferry terminal, a trip of about 2 hours. The bus stops a 2 minute walk from the Black Ball terminal.
Victoria ferry terminals on Belleville Street
The Victoria Clipper docks at the Steamship Terminal, 470 Belleville Street, Victoria, BC V8V 1W9, about a block from the Hotel Grand Pacific. The Hotel Grand Pacific garage at 463 Belleville Street and Robbins Parking lots have overnight pay parking.
