The Larkspur ferry terminal sits at 101 East Sir Francis Drake Boulevard in Larkspur, Marin County, just east of Highway 101. The Larkspur ferry terminal has a covered paid waiting area and restrooms.

Driving to the Larkspur ferry terminal

From the north, drivers take Highway 101 south to exit 450B, San Anselmo/Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. Drivers keep left at the fork and follow the signs for East Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. After a left turn onto Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and under the freeway, the Larkspur ferry terminal is on the right.

From the south, drivers take Highway 101 north to exit 450B toward the Richmond Bridge and merge onto East Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. The Larkspur ferry terminal is on the right at the first light.

Golden Gate Ferry runs two parking lots for Larkspur–San Francisco ferry riders, first come, first served.

Any car parked during the weekday fee hours owes the daily fee, whatever time it arrived. Drivers pay through Parkmobile, in zone 111 for a single day or zone 114 for a 30-day permit. Carpool, disabled and motorcycle spaces pay the same fee.

Golden Gate Ferry tickets or tows cars parked longer than 24 hours. Golden Gate Ferry does not allow RVs in either lot.

The Larkspur ferry terminal has covered bike storage for 80 bikes inside the paid waiting area and racks for about 60 more outside. Golden Gate Ferry removes bikes left longer than 7 days.

San Francisco Ferry Building parking and directions

Golden Gate Ferry has no public parking at the San Francisco Ferry Building. Private paid lots and garages are nearby. Golden Gate Ferry has racks for 15 bikes at the San Francisco Ferry Building, inside its paid waiting area and just west of it.

Adult Clipper users get a fare credit when they transfer between Golden Gate Ferry and San Francisco Muni within 2 hours.

How early to arrive for the Larkspur–San Francisco ferry

Golden Gate Ferry closes the boarding gates one minute before each Larkspur–San Francisco ferry departure. Golden Gate Ferry asks riders without Clipper or a ticket to arrive at least 20 minutes early to buy a ticket.

Each rider needs a separate ticket, contactless bank card or Clipper account. Clipper and contactless bank card riders tap once at the fare gate when boarding at Larkspur or San Francisco. Golden Gate Ferry does not take vouchers from tour companies or other operators.
