Princeton Ferry

The Princeton Ferry was a auto and passenger cable ferry service that connected Princeton, a census designated place in Colusa County, California, and Afton, a unincorporated community in Glenn County, California. The ferry service operated for 130 years before being shutdown in 1986 by officials in Glenn County due to safety and financial considerations.[1]

The route was approximately 100 yards long and took only a few minutes to complete. During its operation, the Princeton Ferry transported an average of 150 to 200 vehicles per day across the Sacramento River.[2]
